PLATINUM PIED PIPERS (PPP) (5-piece band | Detroit/Brooklyn/Los Angeles)

  • PPP released their debut album Triple P in 2005 to global praise, both from media and music lovers.
  • Triple P was chosen as one of the albums of the year in Gilles Peterson's 2005 Worldwide Winners Awards.
  • PPP have received glowing press in THE FADER, BPM, LA Weekly, TRACE, URB, Straight No Chaser, XLR8, and more.
  • Waajeed has been rumoured to have production consideration by Whitney Houston, Angie Stone, and even D'angelo's return.
  • Waajeed has contributed numerous tracks to both Slum Village and J Dilla, and is credited as helping form the group Slum Village.
  • PPP's sophomore album Abundance in scheduled for an October 2008 release and features a new cast including Karma Stewart, Coultrain, Nico Redd, and Jamila Raegan.

    AMANDA DIVA (New York, NY)

  • Amanda Diva is a multi-faceted artist from New York City, who began her career in spoken word, but had more recently expanded as an emcee and singer.
  • She debuted on Russell Simmons’ Def Poetry Jam in 2002, and again appeared in 2005.
  • Amanda is also known in her role as a media personality, hosting MTV2's "Sucker Free" programming in 2004/2005, as well as hosting "Breakfast at Diva's" radio show on Sirius Satellite Radio (HipHopNation/40).
  • She acted as a temporary replacement for "Floacist" Natalie Stewart of the R&B duo Floetry on a 21-city Floetry Remix tour in 2006.
  • Just launched a blog through OkayPlayer.com (http://blogs.okayplayer.com/amandadiva/).

    FREE SHUTTLE BUS will be running from NXNE HQ (Holiday Inn on King) to SOUND ACADEMY all night from around 8pm to 2:30am. Shuttle will leave approx. every half hour, and will make a stop regularly from 10pm onward at HARBOURFRONT CENTRE in order to pick up from events going on for LUMINATO.
