Sharky is a new representative of the 519 area code. This "skinny little egotistic rapper" has some impressive skills and is worth checking for, but the album does have some rough spots.

The album starts off with "Treacherous Waters" and "Carcharius." Both of which mesh lyrics and production quite well. As a matter of fact, "Carcharius" is pretty brilliant. The production is catchy and moving and the lyrics skilled, although the hook is a little repetitive.

Repetition actually seems to be Sharky's weak point. If you took all the lines which refer to him being a shark, you'd have a bunch of very short songs. On some of the tracks, especially toward the end of the album, his rhyme scheme seems forced. As a matter of fact, it sounds like he opened his rhyming dictionary and just wrote verses by ending every line with a word from the list. The guest emcees are alright, but none of them really stand out as exceptional.

The production on the album is generally good, but inconsistent. There are some amazing tracks, and some that will leave you yawning. The board duties are handled by Prologic and Knowitall. These two also provide guest lyrics on a couple of tracks.

There is some very strong material on this album. Some examples include "Treacherous Waters," "Carcharius," "Tell Me What You Want," "The Industry," and "Poisonous."

Probably the biggest problem with this album is that Sharky is just trying a little too hard here. That said, when he just relaxes and makes songs, it turns out very well. Sharky is a name heads should remember and check for in the future.
