Las Vegas is the home of big lights, fast money and the R&B trio 702. Although their road to the big time came over 3 years ago with the release of their first gold album, "No Doubt," 702 is aiming to surpass that with the release of their self-titled sophomore joint.

Irish, Misha and Meelah are definitely showing their maturity with this new album and are no longer talking about what may be or taking their time. You'd have to have been sleeping for the whole summer not to have heard their first release, which has everyone and their little sister asking, "Where My Girls At?" It's been attacking radio play lists around the country and the video, which re-introduced a much slicker, fashion conscious trio, is enjoying heavy rotation on BET, MTV and MuchMusic.

Unlike their last album, most of the songs seem to have the same theme and the production is tighter and complements the singing styles of the young ladies. "You Don't Know," is another party joint to look out for. The production team of Soul Shock and Karlin were used to infect the listeners with bouncy, butt shakin' rhythms that is sure to have you movin' in the clubs.

"Make Time" and "You'll Never Know" are slower "tell your man what he's doing wrong" kinda songs that shows off the girl's maturity and singing skills. My favourite song on the album is the Missy produced, "Gotta Leave," which is about a girl leaving a man that is all wrong for her, (Whitney should take heed, J )

The only downside on this album are a couple tracks that sound like they're trying too hard to gain a stalker like following of young kids from commercial radio play. "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," has them sounding like the Backstreet Girls and they don't sound like their true selves or voices. But other than that, the album is definitely a must have for the summer. You won't be disappointed and hopefully the girls hit the jackpot this year at the award shows. I got their back.
